Function names follow Infor’s documentation (CloudSuite Industrial 9.01.x and 10.x, M3, LN 10.5); your release may label them differently.

Allocating a customer payment in Infor is the step that matches it, fully or partly, to the open invoice records it pays. Agents prepare that allocation with the evidence, and a person approves it.

The page covers three Infor ERP lines. Infor CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine) is Infor’s ERP for industrial manufacturers, in an Enterprise and an SMB edition, the SMB edition “on-prem or cloud” (Infor, 2026). Infor M3 began as Movex at Sweden’s Intentia and came to Infor with Lawson in 2011. Infor LN began at the Dutch firm Baan and joined Infor in 2006 (Infor, 2026).

Transformance connects to and works with all three through its integrations hub; Infor is a supported ERP (ERP integrations overview). Each Infor line already handles payments, allocations and reminders; this page is about what AR teams add on top.

Takeaway: Infor keeps the books and the AR functions; agents prepare the work around them, and a person signs off.

What do Infor CloudSuite Industrial, M3 and LN already do in AR?

Each line records payments, allocates them to invoices and runs reminders: A/R Payments and Dunning Groups in CloudSuite Industrial, Payment Received and Payment Reminder in M3, reminder letters in LN.

CloudSuite Industrial. Payments are entered on the A/R Payments form, and Generate Distribution distributes them automatically. “The system posts only balanced transactions”: if the applied amount differs from the check amount, “the system detects the error and cancels the posting” (Infor documentation, CloudSuite Industrial 9.01.x). Electronic payments from a bank or lockbox come in through the A/R Payment Import workbench; “different banks use different file formats”, so each format gets a Map ID, and NACHA CCD is predefined (Infor documentation).

Dunning runs on Dunning Groups and Dunning Schedules: a group sets the due-date basis, the method (Dunning Date or Staged) and the threshold for the first letter; a schedule adds stages, days between them, letter text and fees (Infor documentation, 10.x).

M3. Payments are recorded in ‘Payment Received. Record’ (ARS110). Electronic bank statements arrive through the program ABS100MI, and “M3 validates that the included payment transactions are correct before allocating them automatically to the corresponding invoices” (Infor documentation). A batch file of receipt orders can be allocated in ‘Batch Payment. Update’ (ARS040), with variances such as cash discount, VAT or exchange rate differences recorded under accounting event AR40 (Infor documentation).

Payments are allocated “completely or partially”, optionally under a reconciliation number that groups the invoices of one operation (Infor documentation). Written reminders come from ‘Payment reminder. Open’ (ARS650), which “has API support, configurable views, and can be processed by job scheduling” (Infor documentation).

LN. Accounts Receivable “handles and monitors sales invoices”, customer balances and interest invoices. Reminder letters are defined “for each language and level” and select invoices by due date. A problem code marks a disputed invoice and can keep it off reminder letters; the reminder diary records e-mails and calls; Accounts Receivable 360 brings open entries, statements, aging and reminders into one place (Infor documentation, LN 10.5).

Takeaway: all three lines already record, allocate and remind; agents build on those functions.

Where do AR teams on Infor spend manual time?

Manual time collects around the payment: reading bank files and remittances in many formats, working out which invoices a payment clears, explaining short pays and following up behind every reminder.

This is the same AR work in every ERP:

  • Formats. Bank files differ per bank, which is why CloudSuite Industrial keeps a Map ID per format. Remittances arrive by email, PDF, portal download or EDI, outside the ERP (where remittances come from; how bank files feed cash application).
  • One payment, many invoices. ACH carried 41% of US B2B payments by count in 2024, up from 25% in 2015, while checks fell from 32% to 13% (Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, September 2026, US). One electronic payment often settles several invoices, and the bank line rarely names them all (how external systems clear open items).
  • Short pays. A customer pays only the undisputed invoices, or takes a promotional, freight or pricing deduction; someone needs the reason before the difference is settled or disputed (partial payments and deductions).
  • Behind the letter. Reminders go out by level; the work is choosing whom to call first, logging promises to pay and handling the disputes the letters bring back.

The cost shows in unapplied cash. The Hackett Group found “a surprising number of organizations” taking “up to three days to post payments, and carrying up to 6% of unapplied cash” (The Hackett Group, 2025; no 2026 figure found). More on clearing an unapplied cash backlog.

Takeaway: the manual hours sit in the documents and the follow-up around Infor’s functions.

Which AR tasks do AI agents take on for Infor teams?

Agents take on four jobs on a Customer 360 view of each customer: cash application (ClearMatch), AR collections (CollectPulse), deductions (ClaimIQ) and cash forecasting (CashPulse).

  • Cash application. DocSense reads remittances in any format with over 97% extraction accuracy across 100+ document types and 170+ languages, with no templates. ClearMatch auto-matches 95% of payments, runs end to end in under 8 minutes and validates 100% of postings (Transformance customer data, 2026). See ClearMatch and how AI reads remittance advice.
  • AR collections. CollectPulse actions 100% of overdue invoices within 24 hours (manual teams: 30-40%), Vero handles 60-80% of routine touches, and DSO comes down 8-12 days on average. The AI calling agent works in 70+ languages, identifies itself as AI at the start of every call and captures 3x more promises to pay than manual follow-up (CollectPulse; prioritising AR collections with AI).
  • Deductions. ClaimIQ identifies deductions with 97% accuracy in under 15 seconds each (manual: 45 minutes), sorts them into six categories, validates about 40% of trade deductions by rules and recovers 5-10% of revenue (ClaimIQ).
  • Cash forecasting. CashPulse reaches 90-95% forecast accuracy out to 90 days, on 30-, 90- and 365-day horizons.

When a payment does not match, Vero investigates the exception from Customer 360, its working memory per customer, and fetches internal and external information to find more matches. It proposes an allocation with the evidence, a person approves, and postings follow your approval thresholds (matching a payment with no reference).

Takeaway: agents do the reading, matching, chasing and sorting; people keep the decisions.

How does data move between Infor and Transformance?

Transformance reads customers, open invoices, journal entries, bank statements and remittances from Infor and writes approved clearing postings, journal entries and reversals back, by the route your environment needs.

What moves. Transformance reads customer master data, open items, invoices, journal entries, bank statements and remittances, and writes clearing postings, journal entries and ERP updates, including reversals, after a person approves (what AR automation reads and writes).

How Infor exposes data. Infor documents “more than 6000 different API transactions” in M3 and recommends Infor Data Lake for larger data volumes (Infor documentation). CloudSuite Industrial and M3 both import bank files. These are Infor’s own interfaces; the route Transformance uses is not fixed by them.

Which route. Per environment, the integrations hub connects by API, files, database, mailbox or Transformance’s own on-premises agent, which only connects outward, so no inbound firewall change is needed. Infor offers CloudSuite Industrial for SMBs on premises or in the cloud, so the method follows your environment and is agreed with your Infor team and IT (AR automation on an on-premise ERP; custom and legacy ERP connections; what IT does in a rollout).

Who controls postings. A 4-level approval model (read, recommend, execute, post) keeps a human in the loop for every ERP posting. Thresholds are set by amount, entity and customer; administrators configure the rules, and finance users approve. The audit log stores the timestamp, what the system did, what the user did, who approved, the input and the confidence (approval thresholds).

Where data lives. Data is hosted in your region, VPC deployment in your own cloud is available, sign-in runs through SSO/SAML with role-based access control, and no customer data is used to train models (how AI agents access ERP data safely).

Takeaway: Infor stays the system of record; Transformance writes only what a person approved, and logs why.

How does onboarding work for an Infor team?

Onboarding is one shared project: the integrations hub builds the Infor connection in a standardized process; full rollout takes up to 4-8 weeks, and your IT team may be involved.

The integration process has six steps: discover, map, build, test, schedule and monitor. In the integrations hub, AI agents run those steps, from mapping your Infor data to testing the connection and watching each scheduled run, and a person approves every change that reaches your Infor system or production.

A proof of value runs 4-5 weeks on one entity, on your own payments. The onboarding hub keeps the plan, open tasks and sign-offs in one place for both teams; more on the agent-run integration platform.

What your team brings:

  1. A contact for the Infor line you run and its release.
  2. IT for the route: API, files, database, mailbox or the on-premises agent.
  3. Bank files, or access to them, per bank account in scope.
  4. The mailboxes and portals where remittances arrive.
  5. Today’s reminder or dunning setup, so agents work alongside it.
  6. The approval thresholds finance wants.

Data access, the IT security review and the approval rules shape the timeline more than the connection does (how long AR automation implementation takes).

Takeaway: a standardized process, one entity first, and a person’s approval on every change.

Which industries run Infor, and what does a day of AR look like?

Infor positions CloudSuite Industrial and LN for manufacturers and M3 for fashion, food and beverage, chemicals, distribution and equipment; the AR day looks much the same in each.

By Infor’s positioning, CloudSuite Industrial serves industrial manufacturing micro-verticals such as machinery and equipment, metal and plastic fabrication, medical devices and building products. M3 sits at the core of Infor’s ERPs for fashion, food and beverage, chemicals, distribution, industrial manufacturing and equipment. LN serves discrete manufacturers in aerospace and defense, automotive, high tech, industrial manufacturing and engineering and construction (Infor, 2026).

Illustrative example: a food and beverage producer on M3. Names and amounts are fictional.

A producer receives one electronic payment of $82,640.00 from a retail customer. The retailer’s portal remittance lists nine invoices totalling $85,140.00 and a $2,500.00 promotional deduction taken against invoice 9, which is $9,800.00.

  1. The remittance. DocSense reads the portal download and pairs it with the bank line.
  2. The match. ClearMatch matches eight invoices in full ($75,340.00) and $7,300.00 against invoice 9, and flags the $2,500.00 difference.
  3. The deduction. ClaimIQ classifies the $2,500.00 as a trade promotion deduction, with the remittance line as evidence.
  4. The approval. The proposed allocation goes to the AR lead, who approves it.
  5. The result. The allocation posts to M3: eight invoices close, and invoice 9 keeps $2,500.00 open until a person settles or disputes the deduction.

The arithmetic: $75,340.00 + $7,300.00 = $82,640.00, and $9,800.00 less $7,300.00 leaves $2,500.00. On CloudSuite Industrial, the same payment would arrive in a bank file imported through its Map ID; the steps after that are the same.

Takeaway: whatever the industry, the agent prepares the allocation and the deduction, and a person decides.
